about

Self Evolving and Sometimes Self Generating - Rhythm, Sequences, Transitions, Harmony, Leads, Ambience and Overall Progression of Sound!
-
This Album developed over a period of a couple of weeks, whilst in the process of research and frequency exploration using VCV Modular Rack to create - Self Evolving Soundscapes on its own after facilitation of connections from one module to another!
-
What is Krell Patch?

Originally, The Krell patch is Todd Barton's modular interpretation of the Ancient Music of Krell song from the 1956 Forbidden Planet film soundtrack.

In the Modular Synthesis world, this later became what is better known as a - Self Evolving and sometimes self Generating Patch where every connected module has a role to play to accommodate and facilitate the movement of Voltage (Frequency / Sound). Whilst some modules help in the generation process, some aid its growth and evolution and also determines its release or temporary death phase and re-generative phases that happen throughout a Krell Patch. Throughout the lifespan of generated sound, it is modulated and sequenced by function specific modules that perform set actions (Manually Set). However, the future stage or states of mutation, evolution, generation of sound becomes unpredictable, not in human control and thus leaves room for exploration and discovery of new, Alien sounds, harmony, progression, complimenting sound effects and the like.

This principle is used to create layers within a Krell Patch for Musical Interpretation i.e. Rhythm, Leads, Sound Effects, Ambience, Chords and Progression. The beauty of Krell or a Self Evolving Patch however is that these Musical Parameters Self Evolve once facilitated.
