BIZZARE FREQUENCY - THE BLUE DEER
-
The elders told us that a long, long time ago, in the Sierra Huichol, the grandparents met to discuss their situation. People were sick, there was no water or food, it was not raining and the land was dry. They decided then, to send four young men to hunt, with the task of finding food and taking them to the community to share, no matter how little or much they got hunting. Each one of the young people would represent an element: fire, water, air and earth.

The next morning, the young people started the day, each one carrying his bow and arrows. They walked for days until, one afternoon, he jumped behind some bushes, a large and fat deer. The young people were exhausted and hungry but, when they saw the deer, they forgot everything and began to run after it, without losing sight of it. The deer looked at the young people and felt compassion for them. He let them rest one night and the next day urged them to continue the persecution.

Many weeks passed before arriving at Wirikuta (in the desert of San Luis, sacred road of the Huicholes). When the young people were in the way of the hill, near the hill of the Noses, they saw the deer jumping in the direction where the spirit of the earth inhabits. They swore that they had seen the deer running in that direction, and tried to find it without success. Suddenly one of the youths shot an arrow that fell inside the figure of a deer, formed by the peyote plants that were in the earth that, with the sun, shone like the emeralds do, looking in one direction only.

The young people were confused by what had happened, but decided to cut the plants formed the figure of the Marratutuyari (deer) to take them to the village. After walking for several days, they arrived at Huichola Mountain, where everyone was waiting for them. Addressing the elders immediately, they told their experience. The elders began to distribute the peyote among the population and, after a while, and they did not feel any more hunger or thirst.

Since then, the Huichols adore peyote, which at the same time is deer and corn, its guiding spirit. So, every year since then, they continue to make a pilgrimage, keeping the route alive from the Sierra Huichola to Wirikuta, to ask God for rain, food and health for their people.

I share with you a lot of love these sounds and can share with your loved ones this special day for Mexicans - Día de muertos
